2. When these terms apply
These terms apply to every offer on ldomilitaria.com and to every order and agreement between LDO and a customer, whether the order is placed through the website, by email or by WhatsApp. They can be read on the website at any time and are sent by email on request.
If you buy as a consumer, nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under Dutch and European consumer law. If a provision of these terms proves invalid, the other provisions remain in force.
3. The objects
LDO sells historical military collectables. Every object is unique and has been used; wear from age and use is part of its character. Each object is described and photographed as carefully as possible, and the description and the photographs together form the basis of the sale. Please read them closely and ask before ordering if anything is unclear.
Objects are offered for collecting, study and historical interest. The price and availability shown on the website apply at the moment you order; an object marked “Sold” can no longer be ordered. Obvious errors in a price or a description do not bind LDO.
4. Historical objects and the law
The objects LDO sells are historical artefacts. Some carry the symbols or inscriptions of regimes and organisations whose crimes are a matter of record, including those of the Third Reich. LDO offers them solely as historical and collectable objects, for study, research, museum and private collections. Nothing in an offer is intended as, or may be taken as, approval of or propaganda for any ideology.
The trade in and ownership of such objects is lawful in the Netherlands. Laws differ from country to country: in some countries the import, possession or display of objects with certain symbols is restricted or prohibited, and the same applies to some edged weapons, deactivated firearms and parts of ammunition. Please check before you order that you may lawfully receive the object in your country. You are responsible for compliance with the law of the country of destination, and LDO may decline to ship an object to a country where it cannot lawfully be delivered.
LDO sells to persons aged 18 and over. LDO does not sell to anyone who intends to use an object to promote or glorify an ideology or to incite hatred, and may refuse an order on that ground.
5. Ordering and the agreement
- You order through the cart and the checkout on the website, or by email or WhatsApp from the product page. In the checkout you accept these terms. You must be at least 18 years old to order.
- Placing an order reserves the object for you and gives you an order number. Because each object is unique, an order for an object that has meanwhile been sold or reserved is refused immediately, and nothing is owed.
- LDO then confirms your order by email, stating the shipping costs and the total amount. The agreement is concluded with this confirmation.
- LDO may decline an order and will tell you the reason, for example when an object cannot be shipped to your country or has been sold through another channel in the meantime. Anything you have already paid is then refunded.
6. Prices
Prices are in euros. LDO sells second-hand objects under the Dutch margin scheme for used goods (bijzondere regeling – gebruikte goederen): the price is the total price, no VAT is shown separately and no VAT can be reclaimed on it. Shipping costs are not included in the price. They depend on the weight class of the object and the country of destination and are shown in the checkout as soon as you choose your country; where the checkout cannot calculate them, LDO confirms them by email before you pay.
For deliveries outside the European Union, import duties, taxes and customs charges in the country of destination are payable by you and are not included in the price or the shipping costs.
7. Payment
You can pay online in the checkout, through LDO’s payment provider, with iDEAL, credit card, PayPal or another method offered there. The payment is made to LDO; LDO does not see your card or bank details. An online payment that is not completed does not cancel the order: you can pay again from your order page or by bank transfer.
You can also pay by bank transfer. Where the shipping costs are shown in the checkout, the total is final and you can transfer it straight away; otherwise LDO confirms the shipping costs and the total by email first. Please quote your order number as the payment reference.

Please pay within seven days of the order or, where LDO confirms the total by email, of that confirmation. The object remains reserved for you until payment is received. If the payment has not been received within seven days, LDO sends a reminder and may cancel the order and offer the object for sale again.
8. Shipping and delivery
- An object is shipped only after the full amount, including the confirmed shipping costs, has been received on LDO’s account. It is then shipped from the Netherlands within 1–3 business days.
- LDO ships internationally. The shipping costs for your destination are shown in the checkout or, where that is not possible, confirmed together with the total before you pay. Delivery takes place at the address you gave in the checkout.
- Shipments can be insured against loss and damage. LDO recommends insured, tracked shipping for every object and includes the cost in the shipping costs it confirms. If you buy as a consumer, the risk of loss or damage in transit remains with LDO until the object has been delivered to you, unless you arrange your own carrier, in which case the risk passes to you when the object is handed to that carrier. If you buy in the course of a business or profession and ask for an object to be shipped without insurance, you bear the risk of loss or damage in transit from the moment LDO hands the parcel to the carrier.
- Please make sure the delivery address is complete and correct; the costs of a parcel that is returned or lost because of an incorrect address are for you. Shipments outside the European Union carry a customs declaration stating the actual contents and the price paid: LDO does not understate the value of an object or describe it as a gift.
- If an object cannot be delivered within 30 days after your order, you may cancel the order and the amount you have paid is refunded within 14 days. Please check the parcel on arrival and report any damage to LDO as soon as possible, with photographs of the parcel and the object.
9. Right of withdrawal and returns
If you buy as a consumer, you may withdraw from the purchase within 14 days after the day you received the object, without giving a reason.
- Let LDO know within those 14 days by email, WhatsApp or letter. You may use the withdrawal form at the end of these terms, but you do not have to.
- Return the object within 14 days after you have told LDO, complete and in the condition in which you received it, carefully packed. Please handle the object no more than is needed to inspect it. You bear the costs of the return shipment; a tracked and insured service is recommended.
- On receipt, LDO inspects the returned object and determines whether it is complete and in the condition in which it was sold, comparing it with the photographs and the description at the time of sale. LDO refunds the purchase price and the original standard shipping costs by bank transfer within 14 days after receiving the object back, or after you have provided proof that you have returned it. If LDO finds that the object has lost value because it was handled more than necessary to inspect it, or because it is damaged, incomplete or altered, LDO sets the amount of that loss and deducts it from the refund; in that case LDO tells you the reason and, where possible, shows it with photographs. The loss may amount to the full purchase price. Please pack the object as carefully as it was packed for you; damage in the return shipment is for your account.
The right of withdrawal does not apply to purchases made in the course of a business or profession. An object that does not match its description can always be returned under article 10, whether or not you buy as a consumer.
10. Description, conformity and complaints
The object you receive must match its description and photographs. If it does not, or if it arrives damaged, please contact LDO as soon as possible after you discover this, and in any case within two months. Describe the problem and include photographs where possible.
LDO answers complaints within 14 days. Where a complaint is justified, LDO takes the object back and refunds the price and the shipping costs, including the return costs, or agrees another solution with you. Wear from age and use that is visible in the photographs or mentioned in the description is not a defect.
11. Lifetime guarantee of originality
LDO guarantees for life that every object it sells is original, as described. This guarantee has no time limit and applies regardless of the 14-day withdrawal period.
If an object proves not to be original, contact LDO, explain your reasons and return the object after consultation. LDO then refunds the full purchase price. The guarantee applies to the object in the condition in which it was sold.
12. Your personal data
LDO uses the details you enter in an order or a form only to handle that order or request and to meet its legal obligations, such as record-keeping. Your details are not sold, and they are shared with third parties only where this is needed to deliver and to process the payment, such as the carrier and the bank. Order records are kept for as long as Dutch law requires for business administration, which is seven years; messages and requests are kept no longer than needed. You may ask LDO at any time which details it holds about you and have them corrected or deleted, by writing to info@ldomilitaria.com.
You receive news about new items by email only if you have asked for it, and you can unsubscribe at any time by sending an email to the same address.
13. Applicable law and disputes
Dutch law applies to these terms and to every agreement with LDO. If you are a consumer living in another country, the mandatory consumer protection of that country also applies to you. Complaints are first discussed with LDO. If a dispute cannot be resolved together, it may be brought before the competent court in the Netherlands or, for consumers, before the court that has jurisdiction under mandatory law.
14. Changes to these terms
LDO may change these terms. The version that applies to your order is the version published on the website on the day you place the order; the version date is shown at the top of this page. Changes do not affect orders already placed.
Model withdrawal form
Complete and send this form only if you wish to withdraw from the purchase. You can copy it into an email to info@ldomilitaria.com.
